What have we done so far?

As restaurants across New York were ordered to shut down at the beginning of March, we quickly began planning and mobilizing. Our first official donation went to immune-compromised individuals in Yonkers on March 20th.

Total Meals Distributed

On The Line distributed over 5,000 humanitarian meals since March 20th. Distributions took place in hard-hit New Rochelle, Yonkers, Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, and Dobbs Ferry.

Participating restaurants include: The Jazz Forum, Sunset Cove, Basilico, Stone Fire, Fortina, The Cookery, The Parlor, Eugene’s Diner, Meritage Restaurant, Bread and Brine, Million Gallon Challenge, Twisted Oak, Bridge View Tavern, Horsefeathers, Harper’s Restaurant, Saint George Bistro, and Capri Pizza and Pasta.

How We Do It

A collaboration between community organizer Anne Richards and civic-minded restaurant owners, we identify where there is pressing need for meals for the hungry and vulnerable. Through fundraising we source food and process meals in restaurant kitchens using their staff. We organize a pool of volunteers to provide contactless delivery of the meals to their final destination.

Who We Fight For

Children
whose only meals take place at schools

Senior Citizens
who are unable to get out and have lost their ability to cook for themselves

Immune-Compromised individuals
who are most susceptible to COVID-19

Individuals with mental health concerns
who can no longer navigate the system

Newly out of work hourly workers
who have not received access to public assistance

Quarantined, low income families
who are suddenly unable to access food and work

Homeless individuals
who have fallen off the grid

Independent restaurants
who do not have access to significant cash reserves

How You Can Help

We need you help to get our meal price point up to $5 per meal. With the right support, On The Line will provide cash flow to keep your local restaurants’ doors open.

In order to provide 1,000 meals a week, we need to raise funds at the rate of $5,000 per week.

Will you support our cause in one of two ways?

Forward this email
and share our mission with your family and friends. If 200 people donate just $25 per week, we will be able to fulfill our mission to provide meals AND support restaurants.

Local photographer Doug Schneider supports our cause through his Families Together Portrait Project by offering outdoor portrait sessions to families. 100% of proceeds from this project will go to On The Line. Check-out Doug’s project here and book your session!

We’re counting on you to help us serve the community.

Thank you for your support,

Michelle Adams
